October has been a busy month on PenPal Schools! We've connected 10,000 students from around the world, and more are joining topics each day! Whether discussing world news, digital citizenship, or participating in our global field trip challenge, there are many opportunities to learn with PenPals this month! What’s New at PenPal Schools The PenPal Schools team is excited to welcome parents and guardians to the PenPal Schools community with the launch of our new mobile app! With the new PenPal Schools app (available on Android and iOS), parents and guardians can follow along as their children learn with peers from around the world. ith a free account parents can view their child’s PenPal exchanges as well as the supporting lessons and videos. Parents will also have the option to upgrade to a premium account ($9.99 per month) to enroll their children in unlimited topics. Learn more about the new Parent App on the PenPal Schools Blog! Featured Topics: October 2019 Young people around the world are making news! Climate activists like Greta Thunberg are speaking out for the environment. Students in Hong Kong are leading protests to protect their rights. Bring your students into the conversation by joining a topic on PenPal Schools this month. If your students had the chance to host their PenPals on a field trip to your community, where would they go? Students from around the world are answering this question in the Global Field Trip Challenge going on now through October 31st! Connect your students with PenPals from around the world to create and share a video, photo, or VR field trip to a favorite site in their community! After learning about outer space with PenPals, Josiah decided to write a science fiction story about Pluto to share what he learned in a fun and creative way.
