This week, meet one of our Global Ambassadors from Taiwan, Susan Tang! She teaches English to grades 2-4. Learn more about Susan and why she loves PenPal Schools! How long have you been using PenPal Schools and what do you love most about it? How has learning with PenPals impacted your students? I have been using PenPal Schools for 2 years. The topics and materials on the website are relevant to students. My students like to share their opinions or works with their pen pals. They feel confident and excited because someone is actually "listening" to them. PenPal School provides an authentic world for my ESL students to actually use the language. Different from boring classroom practices, students are highly motivated. I believe that the learning process is meaningful only if students have the desire to learn. What is your favorite PenPal Schools project? World Explorer! 1. Students get to know about their PenPals better through different topics. 2. It's more flexible for teachers within a 6-week long project. What advice do you have for teachers that are new to PenPal Schools? Don't be afraid. Just try it, and you will love it! If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why? European countries. I am so fascinated by the romantic and exotic nature of European countries. Check out more of Susan's students' designs from Flags of the World below, or check out the padlets they created here, here, here, and here!
