Meet our Global Ambassador: Lori Wu from Taiwan

PenPal Schools Global Ambassadors improve our community by supporting educators around the world and sharing their global education practices. This week, meet Lori Wu, our Global Ambassador from Taiwan!

How long have you been using PenPal Schools and what do you love most about it? How has learning with PenPals impacted your students?
I have been using PenPal Schools for about 1 year. I was looking for safe and interesting online resources for my students to practice their English, then I found PenPal Schools. My students love it so much because it makes English a practical language, not just a learning subject. And they always love to read what their pen pals wrote to them, it's like the world is just a small village.

After using PenPal Schools, my students are motivated to learn English by themselves. That's the first and exciting thing I see from my students. After we did the project Joining Forces for the Environment, they care more about the environment, [whether] nearby or [what they see in] the news. I am glad that they've broadened the global vision a little more.

What is your favorite PenPal Schools project?
My favourite project is A World of Food. It is because I love to eat! Lori shares tons of photos of delicious-looking food on Twitter! Follow her @loriwu80

What other ways do you connect your students with the world?
I use the PenPal Schools Facebook group.

What advice do you have for teachers that are new to PenPal Schools?
Don't think too much, just try it. And you will never regret it.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
I would like to go to the bottom of the sea because I love diving.
